About the 2009 presenters:
Jeremy Aguero, Principal, Applied Analysis
Applied Analysis Principal Jeremy Aguero formed the company in 1997. His areas of expertise include economic analysis, operational model development, fiscal impact analysis and public policy analysis.

Aguero graduated with honors from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and holds a juris doctorate from the Wm. S. Boyd School of Law. During his last year of undergraduate course work, he served as an intern/analyst with Coopers & Lybrand, LLC's (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) Financial Advisory Services Group. After spending 18 months with Coopers, Aguero left and formed Applied Analysis.

Aguero's project history demonstrates a wide range of abilities. He has worked for clients in both the private and public sectors and undertaken projects of local, regional and national significance.

In addition to his professional activities, Aguero is involved actively in the community. He is currently on the Board of Advisors for the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling and has served on the Board of Directors for the local chapter of Hispanics in Politics.

Aguero has been asked to speak on economic and development trends for numerous professional groups. He has authored informative columns featured in various publications including In Business Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Business Press. Aguero was named one of the Top Business People Under 40 by In Business Las Vegas in 2001,and featured in Who's Who in Southern Nevada Business 2003.

The Governor's Task Force on Tax Policy: Chairman of the Technical Working Group: Aguero was responsible for the design and development of a comprehensive fiscal model to assess the existing fiscal structure of the State of Nevada and project the state's fiscal balance for a 10-year period. The model allowed the Task Force to create a comprehensive report utilizing 'what if' scenarios based on potential tax alternatives to further dictate public policy decisions with regard to tax initiatives.
The Hospitality Industry's Impact on the State of Nevada: A Review & Analysis: Aguero teamed up with Shannon Bybee, Executive Director of the UNLV International Gaming Institute, to prepare this report that was later submitted to the Federal Gaming Impact Study Commission.
Clark County Community Growth Task Force: Aguero acted as lead analyst and provided technical assistance to the Clark County Community Growth Task Force. His efforts required a number of technical and qualitative assessments including, without limitation, land use and development projections. The project also resulted in the Clark County Monitoring Program (www.monitoringprogram.com), an interactive, web-based monitoring tool used to track economic, fiscal, social, and development trends in Southern Nevada.
